STEP 15 - RISE AND SHINE

It’s hard to fall asleep at camp. But it’s also hard to wake up, too. Lots of fresh air, hiking and swimming, and late nights can make getting up, ready, and to breakfast on time one of camp’s biggest challenges.

Invigorating oils such as PEPPERMINT and Citruses can help when sleepy campers are trying to work up the motivation to get out of their warm and cozy sleeping bags and ready for the day of camp fun.

The best wake-me-up blend around is super simple: one drop PEPPERMINT and one drop Wild Orange in the palm of your hand. Cup hands near the face and inhale. You’ll feel energized and ready to tackle the day!

The following can be used as either diffuser blends or roller bottle blends. Put the number of drops indicated in your diffuser OR double the drops in a ten ml roller bottle and top with Fractionated Coconut Oil.

• 1 drop Spearmint

• 2 drops Tangerine

• 2 drops Lemongrass

WAKE UP BLEND RECIPE

• 2 drops Frankincense

• 2 drops Lime

• 1 drop Ylang Ylang

Remember: Many Citrus Oils (and blends with Citrus Oils) are phototoxic. Since camp involves a lot of sunny time, either keep these as a diffuser blends or stress to your child the importance of applying to the bottoms of the feet or somewhere else that won’t see much sun. Otherwise, avoid sunlight or UV rays for 12 hours after applying topically.

You can also mix up a stock blend for your child to bring to camp and smell right out of the bottle or place a drop or two on a cotton ball or clothing if you want to avoid topical skin application.
